Painter and printmaker Uwe Kowski was born Leipzig, Germany, in 1963. He studied painting and graphic art at the University of Graphics and Book Arts, Leipzig, from 1984 to 1989, intending to become a sign painter. After the fall of the Berlin wall, he was able to expand his studies and chose a fine art path instead. He continues to live, work, and exhibit in Leipzig, with his most recent participation at the Galerie Born in New Kaliss, Germany, in 2023. His work is held in the Museum of Modern Art, NY; Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig, Germany; the Museum for Young Art, Frankfurt, Germany; and the Hood Museum at Dartmouth, New Hampshire; and elsewhere.
