Biography

Sculptor Albert Marius Patrisse was born on June 20, 1892 in Fresnes-sur-Escaut, France. He studied under Jules Coutan. In 1922 he won a Grand Prize at the Prix de Rome, and showed at the Winter Salon in Paris in 1947. He was known for his numerous monumental memorials, and a street in his birthplace was named for him. Despite a prolific career, very little is found on Patrisse's life and education. He died on September 3, 1964, in Dunkirk, France.

Works by Patrisse can be found in the collection of the Musee du Jouet de Poissy, France.
