Biography

Walter R. Rogalski, printmaker and lecturer, was born in Glen Cove, New York on April 10, 1925. He studied at the Brooklyn Museum School and studied with Zavier Gonzalez, Arthur Osver and Gabor Peterdi between 1947 and 1951. Rogalski was a member of the Society of American Graphic Artists and he lectured on etching, engraving, lithography and photo silkscreen. Rogalski was an Associate Professor of Graphic Art in the Graduate School of Art and Design at the Pratt Institute.

His work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Fogg Museum of Art, the Smithsonian Art Museum and the Library of Congress. He authored Prints and Drawings by Walter R. Rogalski and contributed to Artists Proof magazine.

Walter Rogalski died on his birthday, April 10, in 1996 in New York.
