Aage Valdemar Larsen Roose, painter and printmaker, was born on 21 January 1880 in Kolding, Denmark. He studied with Sophus Clod Svensson at the Royal Academy of Arts between 1898-99. Roose also attended the Kunstnernes Studioskole where he studied with the painters Peder Severin Krøyer and Laurits Tuxen between 1901-1905. The following year Roose studied at the Académie Colarossi in Paris.

Roose taught printmaking at the Royal Academy of Art beginning in 1905. He joined fellow artist Viggo Pederson in opening an art school in 1909.

He exhibited worldwide with shows in London, New York, Prague, and Rome. Roose also participated in the Charlottenburg Fall Exhibition each year until 1970. He was married to the well-known artist, Agnes Roose.

The work of Aage Roose is represented in the collections of museums in Sweden and Denmark, as well as the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Aage Valdemar Larsen Roose died on 18 November 1970.
