French artist/illustrator Jean Routier was born in Paris, France on March 4, 1884. He illustrated numerous books, magazine covers, and posters including imagery of sports, automoblies and the Belle Epoque from the turn of the 20th century into the 1940s. Routier was made a Knight of the Legion of Honour in 1930. Despite his active career he is another artist whose life's details remain a mystery to us, factual data being scarce at this time. Any biographical information would be much appreciated.
