Louis Tessier, who was born in Paris in 1719, was a noted draftsman and painter of flowers.
He designed for the Manufacture National des Gobelins, a tapestry factory located in Paris, and created illustrations for books on natural science. Examples of his tapestry designs are in the Tapestry Room from Croome Court in the Metropolitan Museum in New York and one of his oil paintings is in the Saint Louis Art Museum.
Louis Tessier died on December 14, 1781 in Paris.
