Painter and printmaker Jean Osborne Abel was born in Colorado on April 6, 1906. By age 17 she was using the name Abel and living in the Bay Area of California. She was a trained etcher and an art collector. In 1930 she was living in Glendale, California where she taught art at Glendale College, and in 1932 she was a part of the team of assisants working for David Siqueiros as he completed his mural, "América Tropical", on Olvera Street in Los Angeles.
Little else has been found yet about her life but this biography will continue to add information as it is found.
Jean Osborne Abel died on October 20, 1991 in San Bernardino, California.
