Printmaker and painter Robert Martin was born in New York City on January 6, 1888. In the early late 1910s and early 1920s he studied at the Art Studens League under Robert Henri. Exhibitions included the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 1918; the California Art Club, 1919; the Brooklyn Museum, 1933; the New York World's Fair, 1939. After some time in Massachusetts and California, he moved permanently to Ridgefield, New Jersey, where he died in August of 1971.
