Linda Adato, printmaker, was born in England in 1942 and began her studies at Hornsey College of Art in the London borough of Haringey. After immigrating to the United States in 1962, she continued her studies at University of California Los Angeles where she received her Masters of Art degree in Art Education.
Adato's intaglios have been exhibited throughout the United States and abroad. She was awarded the Gold Medal of Honor at the 58th Annual Exhibition of Audubon Artists in 2000.
Her work is represented in the collections of the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts, San Francisco; the Art Complex Museum, Duxbury, Massachusetts; the British Museum, London; the Corcoran Museum of Art, Washington; the DeCordova Museum, Lincoln, Massachusetts; the Detroit Institute of Art; the Mississippi Museum of Art, Jackson; and the New York Public Library.
Linda Adato is a member of the Boston Printmakers and the Society of American Graphic Artists. She served as president of the Society of American Graphic Artists between 2007 and 2010. She lives and works at her home in New Rochelle, New York.
