Vivian Bergenfeld (nee Feller) was born on August 28, 1923 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Vivian attended The Philadelphia College of Art and the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, where she studied printmaking and painting.

She received her teaching certificate in the School of Industrial Design at Philadelphia College of Art and University of the Arts. Vivian worked as a printmaking instructor at various institutions including the Hussian School of Art, Cheltenham Art Center, and Chestnut Hill College, all in Pennsylvania.

Vivian Bergenfield died on June 19, 2004 in Elkins Park, Montgomery, Pennsylvania.
