Little is found on the life of Czech printmaker Jan Jakub Paroubek, though it is known that he was a prolific engraver and designer of ex libris. He was born on May 17, 1877 in what was then Czechoslovakia in the city of Bezdekov, and died on August 28, 1962 in the Czech Republic, in the city of Domazlice. His work is held in the collections of the Library of the National Museum, Czech Republic and the Balaton Museum, Hungary.
