Painter, printmaker, and illustrator Stan Washburn was born in New York City in 1943. He attended the California College of Arts and Crafts (now the California College of the Arts) in Oakland, where he received his BFA in 1967 and his MFA in 1968. He has illustrated several books, and he continues to live and work in California.
