Painter and printmaker Mataichiro Isoda was born in Kyoto, Japan, in 1907. He was a graduate from the Kyoto City Specialist School of Painting. Although he was mainly a painter, he made several prints in the late 1940s and 1950s, the bulk of which were published by Unsodo but he worked with Uchida as well. His artwork can be found at the Yamatane museum in Japan. He died in Kyoto in 1998.
