Printmaker watercolorist Kazuo Umezawa was born in Hokkaido, Japan, in 1952. He attended Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, graduating in 1979. That same year he traveled to Paris to study at Stanley William Hayter’s Atelier 17. He continues to live and work in Paris.
