Printmaker and painter Dennis Frings was born June 24, 1945, in Streator, Illinois. He earned his BFA from the University of Illinois and his Juris Doctorate in 1970 from the University of Texas. He retired as a lawyer in the early 1980s to focus full time on art. 

Selected exhibitions include the Times Journal Company, VA, 1985, the Brevard Art Center & Museum, FL, 1985; the Royal Ontario Museum, Canada, 1985; the Danforth Museum of Art, MA, 1985; and the 32nd Annual Art Show in Roanoke, VA, 1990.

His work can be found in the coporate collections of General Motors Co., IBM, General Electric, Price Waterhouse, Hershey's, Marriot Coroporation, and Martin MArietta Corporation, among others.
