Printmaker Anthony Davies trained at the Winchester School of Art (1966-1970) and the Royal College of Art, London (1970-1973). He opened a studio in Northern Ireland in 1984, while teaching printmaking at the University of Ulster. Davies has exhibited extensively, with eighty solo exhibitions in the United Kingdom, Japan, Europe and New Zealand. Davies' is work is held in numerous collections including the National Museum of Wales, the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and the Library of Congress, USA. In 1994 the artist was elected as a fellow of the Royal Society of Painters and Etchers.
Davies moved to New Zealand in the early 1990's and later founded the Hotspur Studio in Wanganui.
