Stanley Angus was a printmaker who flourished between 1928 and 1935. Printmaking was probably more a passion rather than a profession for Angus. Depending upon the reference, he is listed as a British artist or a Scottish artist based in London. A drypoint of a shipyard is dated 1929 but most of his drypoints depict the Scottish landscape with castles or rugged mountains. His prints were published by Messrs. James Connell & Sons on Old Bond Street in London and were included in Fine Prints of Year in 1932 and 1933. Fourteen titles are noted in these books with editions ranging from 30 to 100 impressions. It has been noted that he exhibited once at the Royal Academy and three times at the Fine Art Society in London. His work is represented in Glasgow University and the Aberystwyth University in Wales.
