“Chemins de fer PLM” refers to the Compagnie Chemins de fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée, (Paris to Lyon and the Mediterranean). This advertisement is for La Turbie, a commune situated in the Alpes-Maritimes department of southeastern France. Vignettes of the scenic coastal village are framed by gold metallic outlines and bordered by richly-hued roses. In the lower left Koenigsegg has even replicated the typesetting section of the poster which would feature the time tables and other pertinent information for train-traveling tourists.
The vignette in the lower-middle left features two popular architectural features: the domed steeple of the Church of La Turbie, left, and the Roman tower known as the Trophy of Augustus, right, built by Augustus to celebrate his victory over the Ligurian tribes. La Turbie is now known as the cradle of automobile mountain races.
