Description
The original poster that Koenigsegg copied for this miniature watercolor did not include the artist's name, though many posters of the time often did due to their popularity. It did state that the printer was J.E. Goossens at 20 Rue GĂ©rando, Paris. A series of images featuring the bright red "S" of the Singer Manufacturing Company, surrounding a smiling Bellw Epoque beauty, were created between 1895 and 1900 as the popularity of their new electric sewing machines skyrocketed. The "S" would continue to be incorporated into other imagery well into the ealy half of the 20th century. Koenigsegg captures the details of the poster down to the machine's delicate moving parts.
