An image of the Sumidagawa River in Asagusa, Tokyo, Japan, running alongside Myoken Hall the and Hashimoto restaurant on Yanagishima Island. The Yanagibashi, or Willow Bridge, stretches across the water just as it curves. Mount Tsukuba, known for its double peaks, is seen in the far left distance. This was published in One Hundred Famous Views of Edo in a book of 100 color woodcuts, and the binding holes can be seen along the right margin.
The full book can be viewed page-for-page on the Metropolitan Museum of Art's website, under the title of the "Hatsune Riding Ground" woodcut.
A note on the condition: the paper exhibits conditions consistent with its age and original binding: scattered shallow dents and minor surface scuffing, light overall acidity, and the binding holes run evenly along the right margin as published. Very faint burn at the old mat opening. The colors are strong and even, particularly the red and blues.
