Description
Frank Henry Mason had been to sea and had worked in shipbuilding, long before taking up art. As a painter he began exhibiting at the Royal Academy in 1900 and soon became established as one of the leading artists and poster designers of marine subjects. He was regarded as one of the leading marine etchers throughout the most flourishing years of the etching market, during the first decades of the 20th century.
