Description
A striking portrait of a man named Antonio dressed in 16th century garb (Old Titian) in Venice in 1923. In the background is a statue of St. Theodore on a pedestal, having vanquished a dragon. Theodore was the original Patron Saint of Venice before St. Mark's relics arrived in Rome. The sculpture, on one of a pair of monolithic pedestals) is located on the Piazza San Marco (Saint Mark's Square) near the Doge's Palace.
