Regionalist printmaker / cartoonist William MacLean published 25 prints with Associated American Artists (AAA) between 1923 and 1947. He lived in the country in New Hope, Pennsylvania and his prints document the rural winters and landscapes of the area.
"Snow Valley", an etching with delicate aquatint is a winter scene, a stand of birch trees and a woods, covered in snow. In the distance a small rural village is seen, nestled into a valley, snow covered mountains at the horizon.
