This color blockprint by Russell Davis Green was probably done at the end of the WPA-FAP. The flattened, stylized image is quite modernist and patterned and not unlike many Scandinavian / Eastern European folk-art paintings.
Elements of the image also evokes some of the patterns developed for the Wisconsin WPA Handicraft Project. The WPA patterns were done as designs, to be printed on napkins, curtains, runners, linen, rugs etc., used in public buildings throughout the U.S.
