German printmaker Josef Weisz was known for his illustrations, and operated his own press in Munich before and after the Second World War until his death in 1969. He published several illustrated series and though many of his works focused on themes of religion, war, botanical subjects and literature, he also produced several works recording his travels.
This image may have resulted from one such venture, and appears to feature two women in what appears to be traditional Eastern garb, perhaps from India. On their heads they carry baskets of food. Though there is a title, we have not as yet been able to decipher.
