Description
Drewes spent many months in San Francisco in 1926 on his way to the Far East. He did a number of etchings, including 14 views of the Bay Area and 8 portraits. Temple Emanu-el, located in North Beach, had been finished in 1926 at a cost of $1,300,000.00 for the lot and building. Drewes chose to depict the entrance with the fountain as his tribute.
