Description
A portrait by Geritz of American author, poet and essayist Hamlin Garland, 1860 - 1940. Wisconsin born Garland moved to Boston to become an author. He wrote about his childhood and his experiences in the Yukon and the world of the time. He became an investigator of psychic phenomena after his move to Hollywood, California in 1929. Franz Geritz did numerous portraits of the arts community in Southern California in the 20's and 30's, this being one of his larger efforts.
