Jules Pascin worked with woodengraving between 1910 and 1915, completing fifteen images but only printed proofs of his woodengravings. Editions were printed in 1960 and 1989. This impression, printed in black ink, is designated as an artist's proof (epreuve d'artiste) and signed with a signature stamp in ink.
"L'atelier" (Workshop),a Surreal peek into the artist's studio, with a posing model, was printed in black ink in an edition of 55 in 1960 for an exhibition at the gallery of his early mistress and dealer Galerie Lucy Krohg, Paris (#12), printed on Japon Ancien paper. It was printed again in 1989 in an edition of 55 in reddish-brown inks.
