An illustrator for magazines including "Harpers", "National Parks Magazine" and the "Sierra Club Survival Songbook", Joseph Smith was a professor of fine art at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and from 1970 was a design consultant for Brooks Bros. This drawing has rubber cement stains on the verso but the front of the paper remains unaffected 50 years later.
