Description
“Ring of the Nibelung”, or “Der Ring des Nibelungen”, was a cycle of four epic operatic dramas composed by Richard Wagner (German, 1813 – 1883). Loosely based on ancient Norse lore, it is best known for the second movement, “Ride of the Valkyrie”. De Hospodar created a portfolio of ten blockprints to illustrate the opera, circa 1930.
