Description
This portfolio has the Latin text with a translation by Willis Barnstone and was designed by George Sadek. The first 20 portfolios from the edition, with the lithographs printed on Inomachi Nacre parchment, are preferred and each contains and original drawing. 305 are from the regualr edition, such as this one. 25 additional presentation proofs have not been numbered. The 12, full sheet lithographs include: The Lion, The Eagle, The Serpent, The Ant, The Fox, The Stag, The Spider, The Whale, The Siren and The Honocentaur, The Elephant, the Turtle Dove and The Panther. All the lithographs are printed in black ink. The 19 woodcuts include: Bishop Theobaldus, The Ant, The Antlers of the Stag, The Honocentaur, Bishop Theobaldus, The Serpent, The Spider, The Whale and Bishop Theobaldus. All the woodcuts are printed in gray-green ink.
