Norwegian born California painter Chris Jorgensen painted this watercolor in 1916, the year he and his wife Angela drove across the country in 2 limousines to Massachusetts to meet their son and his wife in Cambridge.
He toured New England, painting as he traveled. This painting quite possibly was done at the bank of the Annesquam River or Lobster Cove in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The Jorgensens returned to California in 1917.
