Description
This image is from a series of lithographs Steinlen did in 1915 titled "Sujets de guerre" (Topics of War) that depicted the effects of the war from a day to day perspective. They were all drawn with litho crayon and printed on a cream (fawn) tint stone to add some color.
Two battle weary soldiers meet a stray dog in a deserted city.
