Description
"Fancy Free" is an experimental printing process, partially developed at Atelier 17. Plaster is poured into a frame and, as it sets up, the artist works the surface which is then inked and printed as a relief print, like a woodcut.
A pencil annotation in the margin to an unidentified photographer reads: "Shoot this print as a color slide and as a black + white 8 x 10 glossy / Call me if you feel another print should be substituted for any Tech. reason. Hyman"
Hyman Warsager died in Slough, Berkshire, England two years after he made this print.
