Genaro Ibañez was born in La Paz, Bolivia. He studied at the Academy of San Fernando, Madrid, Spain. His work reflects his interest for Colonial architecture in Bolivia. He was the director and professor of graphic arts at the School of Fine Arts, La Paz.
