"Aspenland" is one of a series of California landscapes that Partridge did between 1923 and 1925. He was taken by the California terrain, commenting it "is to the landscapist what the nude figure is to the figure painter - in her lovely bare hills with ther lovely, flowing lines the artist can see the real California."
"Aspenland" was exhibited extensively by Partridge and was selected as one of the works to be illustrated in the publication 'Fine Prints of the Year: 1926', illustrated as plate 87.
