Description
This "Mask" was done in 1973 using both oil and acrylic paints on paper and then varnished with a high gloss varnish. From the title it would appear that this is number 27 from a series of mask paintings that Welsh painter Jon Peaty did.
A face emerges from a green surround, floating, looking very much like an eskimo mask - at least that is what the viewer hopes. There are two round "eyes" that are black holes - ready to stare you down or draw you in.
