Description
This is an unrecorded artist's trial proof of a woodcut that does not appear to have been editioned. The title, "Die Brucke" was also used as a name by the German Expressionist group founded in 1905 and joined by Pechstein in 1906 - the only member to have formal art training. This ancient stone bridge could well be one of the old bridges in Dresden, where "Die Brucke" was founded.
