Description
Mission Santa Barbara is a Franciscan Spanish mission founded by Padre Fermin Lasuen in 1786. Due to its size and grandeur, it is known as the "Queen of the Missions," and is a popular tourist destination as well as an attactive landmark for photography and artistic rendering. In the 1920s and '30s when this print was made, the mission's architecture was appealing to the fashionable Art Deco sensibility of the time.
