Description

After the painting by Rembrandt van Rijn, 'Agatha Bas', from 1641. Of note regarding the composition by Rembrandt is that he had cleverly painted Agatha's hand to "rest" against the painting's ebony frame, playing with illusion and reality. Rembrandt presents her from the waist up, close to the viewer, approachable and open.

In this homage, we view Agatha down a hallway, standing at the door of an imagined structure. She is distant, and the viewer isn't able to discern if she is opening the door or closing it.
