Description
An image of Marienplatz, or Mary's Square, in Munich, featuring the Mariensaule (Mary's Column) in the foreground and Altes Rathaus (Old Town Hall) in the background. Marienplatz has been the city's main square since 1158; in 1638 the townspeople erected the Mary's Column to celebrate the end of Swedish occupation.
