Description
Central Park is blanketed in heavy snow in Max Pollak's depiction of the famous New York attraction, lined in the reaching branches of bare trees and crowned by the city skyline. Pollak hadn't been in the U.S. for very long when he created this work, having arrived at the end of 1927, but New York proved to be a source of inspiration to the artist already known for his depictions of European cities and villages.
