Description
A drypoint by Ernst Oppler who created many images of dances, especially Anna Pavlova. This image is of the Polovtsian dances by Alexander Borodin for his unfinished opera 'Prince Igor', Act 2.
The music for Prince Igor was written by Aleksandr Borodin, completed and partly orchestrated by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Aleksandr Glazunov; sets and costumes by Nikolai Roerich; choreography by Michel Fokine. It premiered on 19 May 1909, at the Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris.
