Description
Martin Levine, who got his MFA at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, works in etching and lithography, depicting realistically rendered city and landscapes. This etching and aquatint was done in 1977 while Levine was in San Francisco working at Collectors Press. Levine uses a sepia-colored ink to soften his composition, a rambling wooden walkway that leads to a group of ramshackle houses which appear to be abandoned. They may have been fishermen's homes at the edge of San Francisco Bay in the wetlands.
