Description
When issued in 1938, this engraving was entitled Nostradam (a.k.a. Nostradamus) but it was mistakenly titled Third Person for the second edition in 1974. The first edition was limited to twenty impression and two proofs that were printed on Japon paper. The plate was cancelled by engraving a signature into the plate that prints in reverse. Third Person is a fine example of the sureness and fluidity of Hayter’s engraved line.
