Description
Despite his talent and the proliferation of his work, there is little found on the life of Edward Vance Warren. His death date cannot be found, though it's known he was born on February 2, 1881, in Worcester, Massachusetts. He was raised and appears to have lived for the majority of his life in Brooklyn, New York, where he became known for his watercolor paintings of city life and architecture.
This archway is not easily identified, as a clear view of a hilly landscape beyond makes it unlikely to be an archway in Brooklyn. It may be that Warren traveled to Europe, as many artists did, and sketched as he went.
