Description
According to the catalogue raisonne, Maurice Bebb sometimes experimented with printing on satin, leaving out the background colors to allow the subject to be illuminated by the soft surface of the fabric. Three editions of "Blue Moonvine" - variously titled "Blue Moon-vine" or "Blue Moonvines" - were done over the course of his career, on various papers, with this impression coming from the first.
Maurice Bebb was an accomplished professional florist with a family history of botanists. His love of the natural world did not subside after his retirement in 1951, and he continued to print until a handful of days before his death in 1986.
