In 1947 Marcel Vertes published a portfolio of fourteen color lithographs in an edition of 250, titled Le Cirque, depicting circus performers. Following this, another edition of 250 was published in 1949. There are also impressions editioned at 200, as with this one, which are printed on various papers and feature a set of peculiar remarques on the left side of the sheet. These impressions are likely numbered proofs, from before the addition of color.
