The Church of Ste. Madeleine and its tower is located in Verneuil-sur-Aver, a city rich in medieval heritage, in Normandy, France. The construction of the church began at the very beginning of the 12th century. The tower was built in the 15th century but only to the height of fifteen meters. After a thirty-year delay, the tower was completed to its present height of 56 meters. The tower is a masterpiece of Flamboyant Gothic architecture and, due to the richness of its sculptural decoration, has been compared to the Tour de Beurre and the Tour-Lanterne, both located in Rouen, France.
