Description
The Church of St. Mary at Bibury is located in the Cotswold District of Gloucestershire, England. Conflicting dates give the 11th and the 12th centuries for the construction of this church. The original Saxon church was quite small and was enlarged in the 13th century when the Gothic chancel arch was inserted to replace the rounded Saxon arch. A Saxon gravestone is set into a small buttress on the chancel wall. A huge perpendicular window was inserted on the west side of the church in the 15th century. Arms depicted the church and the cottages of Arlington Row from a vantage point across the Coln River.
